Keith Anderson – Community Advocate & Public Servant

Keith Anderson, a proud native of Longview, Texas, has spent his life in service to both his country and his community. Born on March 18, 1962, Keith graduated from Longview High School in 1980, where his leadership journey began through 3.5 years of dedicated participation in JROTC. His commitment to service continued through 13 honorable years in the Texas National Guard, Company B, 5th Battalion, 112th Brigade, 49th Armor Division.

Keith holds dual associate degrees — one in Machine Technology from Kilgore College (1983), and another in Criminal Justice from El Centro College (1997), where he was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa for academic excellence.

Throughout his life, Keith has been a tireless advocate for civic engagement, youth mentorship, and social equity. As a former member of A.C.O.R.N., he worked closely with grassroots organizations and elected leaders to empower communities through voter registration and housing advocacy. His work with leaders such as Commissioner John Wiley Price, Governor Ann Richards, and U.S. Secretary Henry Cisneros has helped shape policies addressing homelessness and economic disparities across Texas.

A two-time Super Delegate for Democratic presidential candidates in 1988 and 1992, Keith has long believed in the power of civic participation. He has also made a meaningful impact through youth development programs, including service as a mentor with Cub Scouts Pack 450 and the Boy Scouts of America.

Keith currently serves as an aviation professional at StandardAero Aviation’s DFW Center (formerly Dallas Airmotive), where his strong work ethic and commitment to excellence continue to shine. Whether serving in uniform, mentoring the next generation, or standing up for those in need, Keith Anderson’s life reflects a steadfast dedication to service, justice, and community advancement.
